What Is A Notary Public?

Notaries Public are public officers, appointed and commissioned by the Oklahoma Secretary Of State. Their function is to administer oaths; to take acknowledgments of deeds and other instruments; to attest to or certify photocopies of certain documents; and to perform other duties specified by law.

A Notary Public serves as an impartial witness to facilitate the workings of commerce and law by lending credibility to certain sensitive signed documents.

When a document is notarized, the public can be assured that its signer is not an impostor and any contracting parties can be assured that the document they have signed will have full force and effect as specified in the laws of the state of Oklahoma.

Seek an attorney's advice if you are not sure what benefit, if any, will be gained by having certain documents notarized; there are times--as could be in cases involving wills--that notarization will invalidate the document.

She will also advise you as to which type of notarization you are in need of--Jurats, Acknowledgement, etc.

Our Mission

  • To perform any notarial act allowed by the State of Oklahoma for any person(s) requesting such an act, who tenders the appropriate fees and charges, and has current, government issued ID in his/her immediate possession.
  • To make our services convenient for our clients in hospitals, nursing homes, schools, offices and homes.
  • To be ethical, abiding by the state's laws.
  • To develop and maintain professional and friendly working relationships by way of mutual respect and concerns.

Identification Required For Notarizations

Each signer must present at least one of the forms of ID* listed below. It must be government issued; current, not expired; contain the signer's photo & personal description and signature; bear an identification number:

  • Driver's License or non-driver's ID card issued by a U.S. state.
  • U.S. passport (no physical description required).
  • US Military Identification Card containing all of the required elements noted above. [The Common Access Card (CAC) is not acceptable.]
  • Driver's License issued in Mexico or Canada.
  • Foreign passport stamped by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) or US Homeland Security.
  • Inmate ID issued by the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.
* In cases when a signer does not have proper ID, or it is not possible for the signer to obtain it at the time, what's know as a "Credible Witness" can be used. This 'witness' must be known, not only by the signer, but also by the Notary Public.

Unacceptable forms of identification include:

  • Matricula consular card.
  • Social Security Cards.
  • Temporary Driver's License.
  • Driver's License without photograph and/or physical description.
  • The Common Access Card (CAC)

I am not an attorney or a Notario Publico. Therefore, I cannot provide documents, legal advice, nor the interpretation of documents.
